An important element when desiging a room is the choice of colour. According to the tones and intensity it is possible to create effects of light, to make the space seem bigger or smaller, warmer,deeper or longer.
To make a room look wider, lighter and fresher, combine light-coloured flooring with light-coloured walls, while to highlight horizonatal lines, choose light-coloured flooring and dark walls. Usually the rule is to use light shades if you want to make a room look bigger, while dark colours tend to make a space seem smaller.
