The world of interior design never stops, periodically searches for new elements, colors, materials and mechanisms that were unexplored until a few years ago, trying to enhance every element of the house, even the most traditional. In this case we will focus on interior doors, and we will do it taking a cue from our partner AIP Porte, a brand that leaves complete freedom of choice between infinite solutions and models, always with particular regard to aesthetics but without sacrificing practicality, indeed ... these two aspects blend together almost naturally.

Let's start by saying that the first thing to evaluate when choosing the doors is the installation and opening system, yes because if you like retractable doors but you don't have the possibility to insert them because the partitions in your home are not suitable for the system you will need opt for another solution. Below we find the various structures:

  • Hinged

  • Concealed

  • Sliding

  • Pivoting or folding

The swing door is the most traditional solution ever. It can be single or double and the opening can be pushed or pulled (also both depending on the needs). It can be adorned with jambs and architraves that can be customized according to need. You can opt for a hinged door without a false frame if there is no possibility of architecturally arranging the door installation area, a problem that can be solved by directly superimposing the frame on the wall and thus covering the architectural hole.

Among the various hinged doors we also find the various models with a flush effect, where the door jamb is integrated into the wall leaving only the panel visible. Easy to clean and applicable on plasterboard and masonry.

A highly performing solution is the pivot door or the folding door.

The pivot door is usually used in public and commercial areas, today it is also used a lot in the home environment due to its fascinating elegance and aesthetic performance. It is mounted on invisible hinges that act as a pivot and allow you to carry very large weights (up to 500kg) without any limitation to the design of the door.

An alternative is the folding door, which is also optimal for saving the space used by closing on itself and reducing the width of the door when open.

An excellent option for those with limited space, the pocket door literally disappears into the thickness of the wall. This solves the problem of the space dedicated to the opening radius of the classic swing door, a factor that sometimes prevents the positioning of furniture that could invade that area, leaving it empty and unused.

Equally efficient is the sliding door, very versatile because it integrates with the existing architecture but is always an excellent choice even in the case of structural renovations. It is found in single glass, double glass or wood panels and can be mounted on a ceiling, wall or recessed rail system. It divides and connects spaces dynamically, it is pleasant to see because, unlike retractable doors, it is not inserted into the cavity and remains visible even when open. It is still an excellent space-saving solution.
